    • Based on the number of calls you receive, if you suspect that the student is not going to school on a regular basis, please visit (or call) the school guidance office and request the “Attendance Profile” of the student
    • Ask the school guidance if the absence is a concern. If yes, send the Attendance Profile to the parents by email with your concern. Make sure to include the student in the email as well

  • What are my responsibilities for a student's daily life?

Find proper medical care when sick

Students may get sick during their study in Canada, and they need your help to see a doctor. Assist the student in finding proper medical care and maintain a copy of the medical insurance policy. You may search a few clinics and call them to confirm if they take new patients. If yes, provide the clinic information and directions to the clinic to your student. Assist the student with the submission of medical insurance claims.

In case there is no clinic that takes new patients, you may need to register the student under your family doctor.

Note: If it’s a life threatening situation, call 911 immediately.

Please direct all your homestay related questions to host support. Please indicate the student ID number when contacting our host support. Contact Host Support
