Homadorma Badges
Our goal is to help students in choosing the best homestay and one of the most important feature of an excellent homestay is its safety. At Homadorma, we award homestays Homadorma Badges once they have passed our strict safety guidelines, as a seal of approval to certify their safeness. There are 4 types of Homadorma Badges:
Interview Badges
Homestays that have been interviewed by Homadorma staff or student will be awarded a Interview Badge.

Staff Interview ProcessBackground Check Badges
Homestays that have completed background check procedure with law enforcement department will be awarded a Background Check Badge
There are 3 different Background Check Badges, depending on how recent the check was completed

Completed between 2-5 years ago

Completed more than 5 years ago
What To Do If You Are a Host
Consult your local police station to know more about the background check you need to go through, get the document and upload it through your homestay Badges page to obtain approval. It generally takes 5-20 business days subject to police station availability.
Alternatively get your Homadorma background check online for faster turnaround time. The result could be available in as soon as 24 hours.
Institution Badge
Institution Badge meets the criteria of most ecuation institution requirements on homestay families in Canada. Homestays with Staff Interview Badge and Background Check Badge are awarded the Institution Badge.

School Board Badges
Certain school boards require homestays that host their students to satisfy some additional requirements to be approved. Homestays that are located in cities governed by those school boards will be awarde a badge if they satisfy the requirements by the school boards
Note: Homestays without School Board Badges are not necessarily bad. It is possible that they are not located in the cities of governance (see below)
