Booking Homestays on Homadorma

  • How long do I have to stay in a homestay?

This is up to you and the host you stay with. Either side has the option to terminate in trial week, or after trial week.

    • Trial week. The first week is what we call a "trial week". The host and the student get to know each other, adjust to the everyday life of each other, and try to find a fit. During this week, either side may terminate the homestay agreement. In order to terminate the agreement in the trial week, the student must:
      • Complete booking at homadorma.com
      • Provide the renter a written termination notice including a check-out date
      • Make sure the check-out date is within 7 days from the date of notice.
    • After trial week. A general rule of thumb is 30-day notice. For more information, please check Termination and Refund
  • What support do I get from Homadorma?
    • Homadorma email support is available Monday to Friday during business hours. We always reply our students' inquiries within 1 business day. You may find our student support email at: Contact Us
    • Homadorma.com chat support is available Monday to Friday during business hours. Please log on to homadorma with your student account email and password to chat with our customer service.
    • Our Help Centre is always available! Feel free to find articles here relevant to your interests
  • What is the Trial Week?

At Homadorma, we provide a 7-day trial week for student and host to mingle, to see if they are fit for each other. The first week of stay is the trial week.

In the rare case of misfit, we will help the students in finding new homestay placement.

The homestay fee is prorated based on the number of nights the student spends in the homestay.

  • What is your refund policy?

    Please visit Termination and Refund.

  • How do I complete the government required quarantine upon arrival?

Visitors arriving in Canada and United States are required to complete a period of quarantine. As a student, here are your responsibilities.

    • Stay up to date with the government COVID-19 quarantine requirements for travellers. Depending on where you travel to, you may wish to check the requirements in Canada or United States
    • Discuss with the host about your quarantine plan which needs to meet the government requirements and obtains approval from the host.

While some hosts may offer quarantine services privately, we are not able to verify whether the homestay meets the requirements of the government regulation. The homestay booking completed on homadorma does not include quarantine services provided by the host. We recommend booking the homestay after the quarantine period. If the student chooses to complete the quarantine period at a homadorma homestay, please be aware

    • Homadorma does not endorse or is responsible for the quarantine services provided by host
    • The termination policy may be voided if it's in violation with the quarantine act. For example, the student cannot move out of the homestay, if the student is still in quarantine.
