About Xue's family
Hosting in Coquitlam since 2019Hello, My name is Xue, a public secondary school teacher in Vancouver for 23 years but live in Coquitlam. I have been teaching ESL and Mandarin. My husband is a part-time private college instructor for 20 yrs, teaching ESL and also teaching a ESL certificate program at the college. Our son is a 15-yr-old Grade 10 student at Charles Best Secondary School’s French Immersion. He is also working part-time at McDonald's. We have had homestay students before and he is very friendly with them. Because we all speak English at home, plus we are both ESL teachers and know the culture here, our home is ideal for honesty students. Moreover, although I myself came to Canada almost 30 yrs ago, I was born, grew up, went to university, and also worked in China before coming here, so I know Chinese culture and traditions well. I'm very proud of myself and my family for having the best of both Western and Chinese worlds. And our students’ rooms with big bright windows, plus one bathroom shared are upstairs, together with other bedrooms upstairs. We can accommodate two students in the two rooms upstairs. Our brand new home is centrally located, within walk-in distance to Charles Best, Centennial. Students can also take bus to Gleneagles and Port Moody secondary schools in two buses--to Gleneagles by taking 151/153 to Coquitlam bus loop and then change to 185; and to Port Moody Secondary by taking 151 and then change to 180 at Burquitlam Station.
