About Diane's family
Hosting in Langley since 2018We are a small quite professional family of 3 who have been hosting since 2018. I work from home and my husband is retired. Our son just graduated June 2024 and works full time. During the day the house is very quiet. Our house is very large with 7 bedroom and 6 full bathrooms, two family rooms, two kitchens, 2 laundry rooms, living room, two outside sitting areas and an office room. The first bedroom available has a single bed, desk, lamp, large dresser and a large closet. There is a 4 piece bathroom off of the bedroom that will be shared with room #4 or alternatively if available could be rented as a private bathroom if room 4 is not booked. The second bedroom is located on the lower level. This bedroom is quite large there is a queen size bed with brand new mattress, desk, nightstand with drawers, ceiling fan lamp, and and wardrobe closet. There is also a second living room which the student is free to use as we only use this second living room on occasion it is fully furnished. Our lower level is very bright with larger windows located in each room including the bathrooms. The flooring in our lower level is brand new and this area has just been painted. The lower level has a secondary kitchen for a student who can prepare and cook their own meals if a meal plan is not wanted. The secondary kitchen contains a oven, stove, dishwasher, large fridge, sink, pantry, coffee maker, toaster oven and island with seating. There is a separate entrance for entering and exiting the house by electronic keypad. This kitchen is fully stocked. Note we only use this kitchen on occasion. Our third bedroom is located on the lower level and has a double bed, desk, dresser, nightstand and light. This bedroom also has a 4 piece ensuite attached to the bedroom that is shared with room #2. If room #2 is not booked then the third bedroom could be booked as a private bathroom. The fourth bedroom is located on the upper level and has a double bed, dresser, desk, chair, nightstand and large walk in closet with light. House rules
We have dinner usually between 600 and 700 p.m. and if the student is not at home we have a double wall oven that can keep the food warm for those who requested Homestay with meals. Student that do not require meals can use the second kitchen as they please.
We ask the students respect the house and our pets as they are part of our family. We have 2 cats that are very friendly and have been around students most of their life. Our first cat is very gentle and affectionate and she is now 5. Our other cat is also very friendly and affectionate and he is one now. Our cats do not go into the student rooms and have been trained as such.
Laundry is available and cost is based on usage in our main laundry room which is conveniently located on the main level.
Our Homestay is ideal for a quite, tidy, student who can take great care of the space while they are with us and keep their bedrooms clean and are responsible for cleaning there own bathrooms.
If a ride to school or another activity is needed this can be arranged with some notice as our schedules are flexible.
When inquiring please let us know what your preference is for room accommodations and if a meal plan is required and preference of a shared bathroom or independent bathroom
