You will never be just a source of income. If you are looking for a true homestay where you are treated like family while you are studying in Toronto then this is the ideal place for you. We want to provide a safe, comfortable and healthy place for young women to enjoy their adventure in Toronto. You will be the only international guest (or at most two) in the house; this is not a quantity business. (We can accommodate two students who come together if they share a room with bunk beds) We are a traditional nuclear family and although we have different schedules we try to eat the evening meal together as often as possible. We are only 3 bus stops from Warden subway station with buses running every 5 minutes. You can be at Yonge and Bloor (centre of Toronto) in 30 minutes from our front door. We live in a pleasant middle income residential neighbourhood, just five houses from a large park that has a summer time splash pad. Our home is a 3 bedroom raised bungalow. Your room is one of these and therefore above ground with a large window. Please note that the bed is a loft bed (see the photo) so you must be prepared to climb it each night! If there are two of you, we can make a room with a bunk bed available. It is also on the main floor with the same amenities. There is a large district library, 2 supermarkets (one East Asian), bank, pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shop, bars, bakery about a 10 minute walk away. We have lived in East & Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and East Asia. My husband served overseas with Christian NGOs in relief and development work. We know how important it is to have a friendly face meet you and to have a safe comfortable place to rest, so you can do your best work. We are of Chinese descent but our primary and everyday language is English. My husband speaks English fluently without accent, my English is very good but I still sometimes add 's' to ends of words that shouldn't have them. We have hosted students from Korea, Germany, Spain and China. Please contact us, confirm your enrolment as an international student and we can personally pick you up at the airport ($30 extra charge). We look forward to meeting you. We have 2 guinea pigs and 3 bunnies that have their own room in the basement, so you can visit or not.
