I am a retired High School English Teacher with a specialty in English Literature and Poetry. My home is clean and spacious with ample sized rooms equipped with cable television (300 plus channels), unlimited Wi-Fi high speed internet, desk, bookshelves and vanity with mirror. The washroom designated for the student will be their private washroom. It is large with two sinks and mirrors, bathtub and shower etc. The Van Horne neighborhood I live in is quiet, clean and safe. There are parks and soccer fields as well as a hockey arena and swimming pool within walking distance. We are just 5 minutes away from Queen's Elite Academy of Canada, 10 minutes away from Seneca College (Newnham Campus), 15 minutes away from Lambton College (Yorkland Campus), 10 minutes away from Toronto International College, 3 minutes away from Pleasant View Junior High School, 12 minutes walk away from Sir John A. MacDonald Collegiate, 15 minutes away by bus to Georges Vanier Secondary School, 20 minutes away by bus to Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute, 25 minutes away by bus to A. Y. Jackson Secondary School, 25 minutes away by bus to Metropolitan Preparatory Academy, and five minutes walk to Pleasantview public library. I am 30 minutes away by bus and subway to Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary school (Hoggs Hollow), 38 minutes away by bus and subway to Northern Secondary School, 25 minutes away by bus and subway to Oxford College of Canada, 38 minutes away by bus and subway to Newtonbrook Secondary School, and 35 minutes away by bus to Don Mills Collegiate. The TTC bus stop is just a short 2 minute walk from my door. For High School and Junior High School students, tutoring and help with homework is available. My home is five minutes away from Fairview Mall and Bridlewood Mall. I am both a parent and grandparent, having raised two children successfully, and have been an integral caregiver to my four grandchildren. Academic achievement is of prime importance to me, and second only to love and mutual respect. You will find both me and my home to be warm, protective, nurturing and inviting. Please note that the range quoted of $850 to $1250 monthly rental fee is meant to provide flexibility for the student. The price of $850 per month is for the students who do not require meals. For the students who do require meals, the cost is $1250 per month, and it includes a complete breakfast, boxed or bagged lunch and a complete dinner. I do recommend that students younger than 19 choose the $1250 plan, as their nutritional needs are essential. The food prepared is of the highest quality - free range, organic - and will be of prime value and importance to younger students. I look forward to welcoming you into my home.
