Hello, my name is Marlena and I have been living in this beautiful city for 38years. I came from Europe. My 2 sons, Alex 31 years and Nicholas 26 years old were born here and got educations from the nearby schools. Nicholas graduated from the University of Toronto and lives at home. Alex is married. Lives and works away from Toronto. We also have 2 dogs. Kai, who was rescued from Egypt, is an 10 years old Egyptian Balati, and Zelda who is 3years old mix . Because of my 2 boys, I have been always surrounded by their multicultural friends, who have been coming over to play or watch sports, or simply to hang out and enjoy a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Being well-read and traveled, we have always been eager to learn about different cultures and traditions, embracing it and encouraging the other person to share and exchange their cooking experiences. We have a house in a convenient location, that is 5 min walking distance to a large food market, doctor's and dentist's office, community center, 2 major banks, and many ethnic shops ( West and East Indian, Middle Eastern, Italian, African). The 2 bus stops are just steps from the house and will take you in 20 min to both subways. We are surrounded by beautiful parks, with 20 km of biking trails, tennis courts, and soccer fields. A 10 min bus ride will take you to a huge Asian market, and a very modern public library. 20-30 min by bus will take you to Humber College North Campus and about 40 min to The York University Keel Campus. Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, Monsignor Percy Johnson Catholic High school, and St. Basel The Great are about 20 min by bus. Thistletown Collegiate Institute is about 15 min walking distance and Father Henry Carr is about 20 min, Seneca College Jane Campus is 15 min by 1 bus. As a single mother, I have always maintained a warm and loving, respectful, and comfortable atmosphere, my home will never be like yours, but we will make it for you to feel as homey as possible, so your parents will feel comfortable to let you stay with us.
