Welcome to our home! My husband Douglas and I have been hosting international students for 3 years and have enjoyed getting to know new people and learning about new cultures. We are a friendly and relaxed couple that seek to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable. We both work full-time - Douglas works in the marine industry and I work in healthcare sector. In our spare time we enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for walks, sailing, playing board games, reading and watching Netflix. We have two bedrooms for international students - bedroom 2 was newly renovated in 2023. Our house has two levels with the bedrooms being on the main floor. There are two bathrooms as well as a living room, dining room, and kitchen. We also have a yard and an outdoor patio that students are welcome to use. You will have storage space in the kitchen as well as your own fridge that you will share with another student. If you would like a meal plan, please let me know and we'll consider this! We live in the city of Burnaby, just across the road from Vancouver. Our neighbourhood is safe and about a 15 minute walk to Central Park, an urban forest with huge cedar trees, ponds and many walking paths. There are 2 bus stops within a 3-minute walk from our house. It takes about 40 min by public transit to get to beautiful downtown Vancouver, 35 min to get to Langara College, and 30 min to get to BC Institute of Technology. We are a 12 minute bus ride from Metrotown Metropolis, a large shopping complex that has everything you need including groceries, SIM cards, clothing, restaurants, etc. If you have any questions about what you can expect at our homestay, please ask! 翻译
