Probably Vancouvers most unique home stay- come live with us in our float home on the Fraser River- Yes you read that right... the house floats on the water and is located in a marina! Hi! I’m Kimberly and I hope we get to meet- I’ve been sharing my home with international students since 2008 I’ve hosted students from the Netherlands, Korea, Singapore, Scotland, Australia, Lithuania, Thailand, Venezuela and Canadian domestic students studying in Vancouver. I also love travel and have been to over 20 countries! I also work in International Education in a local university. I have lived in Vancouver for 25 years and am very familiar with the city, events, attractions, transportation and local universities. I look forward to being your host. I offer you a safe and comfortable space to share with me and my growing family. I have a 5 year old child. We are fully vaccinated against Covid19 and expect the same of our guests. You will have your own private furnished room with bed linens, towels as well as desk and shelving/storage. The homestay is "all inclusive" ALL meals for home or school are provided. I will expect a mature and responsible attitude from you- and to foster a respectful relationship with you. You will be responsible for cleaning up after yourself including your own laundry, your room and keeping the common spaces like kitchen and bathroom(s) clean after each use. The house will generally be a pretty quiet one- once my child goes to bed at 8pm. I might watch a show, do crafts, do work or prepare food but the house will be quiet by 9/10pm. There is no official curfew but you will have to be very respectful of noise, especially in the evening. Using headphones on your personal device and in your bedroom is ideal. My child’s safety is top priority. I will not tolerate drug use of any kind. I also cannot have any unknown people/friends invited into the home without advance permission, and no overnight guests. I also prioritize personal safety living while on the water- for example outside doors and windows must be secured at all times. You will be provided with meal options for breakfast and lunch daily- some made by me some to prepare yourself. I will prepare dinner most nights. Sometimes I’ll order takeout for us. If however you don’t want to join the family for dinner some nights you are out with friends etc just let me know. On nights I do not cook there will also be options so you can make yourself. If you have dietary restrictions for medical or religious reasons we need to discuss in advance. I personally have no restrictions and cook meals with meat, dairy and wheat etc Short walk to the Canada line/Skytrain. Closest station is "Aberdeen" at a 10 minute walk. Direct and easy commute (includes the walk/train ride) to: 10 minutes to BCIT Aerospace Campus Richmond 20 minutes to Kwantlen KPU (Richmond campus) 25 minutes to Langara 35 minutes to downtown Vancouver 45 minutes to VCC 翻译
