I am from Singapore and came here to study by myself over 10 years ago. I understand the struggles that newcomers face when leaving their families and home countries and can help combat some of those struggles. Struggles could range from setting up banking, selecting a phone plan, sight seeing to making friends in Vancouver. My husband is a Navy Veteran whose family used to do homestays for over 10 years as well. I'm a stay at home mom to a 3 year old child who is very well behaved. We have family meals together with our homestays and include homestays in family gatherings too. Homestays are like family to us.----- Our home is close to the sky train (5 mins walk away) and Bus 25 stops right outside. It is a central location with parks and a community center close by. You can go Downtown or Metrotown within 15 mins with one straight train. BCIT burnaby is a 20 mins 1 bus ride. It is a 7 minute walk to a grocery store and close to many restaurants. BCIT is a 15 minute bus ride away. Kitchen is unavailable to students in bedroom 1 and a meal plan MUST be included. Please see below to see what my meals are like. Patio, Family room, TV and Dining room are available to the students for use. Cleanliness in the Common areas, family kitchen, common washrooms, trash will be maintained by the family.----- I do not accept students with food restrictions for bedroom 1----- Bedroom 1 ( $1,350 ) is a bright guest room is ready to serve you the tranquility for your study need. This bedroom is located on the same floor as the family's. A mini fridge is provided for Room 1. Meals have already be added for Bedroom 1 and is non negotiable as there is no access to the kitchen for this homestay - no need to add food to bedroom 1---- Bedroom 2 ( $1,600 ) is a much larger room and can be a lock off suite for complete privacy. You have your own bathroom, kitchen, full sized fridge and freezer, under the stairs storage and a separate entrance with a separate patio for your own usage. It is equipped with a queen size bed. Meals DO NOT need to be added for Bedroom 2 as you would have your own functional kitchen but it can be selected Perfect private fully furnished suite for someone who wants to live alone but wants a family that they can ask questions to. ----- We are ready to help and guide you to pursue and explore the new chapter of your boarding life in this beautiful city of Vancouver.
