Hello, Our family consists of J.R. and Rosaura, and our two children, Maria and Jose. J.R. is a self-employed interior designer and Rosaura works at the Sutton Place Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Jose works full-time at a local company in Richmond, and Maria lives in Saskatoon, SK where she is pursuing medicine. J.R. and Rosaura are both immigrants from the Philippines, and met in Vancouver in the late 1980s. Together, they learned a lot about Canadian culture and enjoyed the multiculturalism that Richmond has to offer, so they are not missing home too much! They usually go visit the Philippines every year in February. We think that our homestay would be a great fit for international students as we are interested in learning about other cultures, and feel we can help students feel at home as we too were immigrants to Canada in our early 20s. Our homestay is a 10 minute walk from the movie theatre in Richmond, as well as other attractions such as restaurants, a bowling centre, skating rink, and swimming centre. Additionally, it is 1 bus ride to Kwantlen University - Richmond campus. 翻译
