We are a professional couple who have been hosting international students for seven years. We have hosted students from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela. We have hosted the same students multiple times as they have become an extension of our family. We prefer shorter term arrangements (one semester or a few weeks or months). I work in insurance and my husband is a chef (and yes he will cook on his days off). I am interested in home design and my husband plays and listens to metal music. Our home is downtown on a quiet street with mature trees. It takes less than 15 minutes to walk or 2 minutes via streetcar to travel to Yonge and Dundas square. We are close to Ryerson University and George Brown College. Your room is on the second of three floors in our house. The second floor has our home offices (2) and your bedroom and one bathroom. The guest room has a view of the backyard, a double bed, and a large tv and a regular sized closed. The guest room has a private bathroom. We have our own bedroom and bathroom on the third floor, giving us all privacy. The room is renovated, well-appointed and clean. We have been slowly renovating our house between guests and we hope that you will find it comfortable. We also have a very nice backyard to lounge or eat al fresco with friends (assuming things go back to normal in the summer). Guests must be comfortable living with a 17 pound dog (she looks like a teddy bear) and a 15 pound cat (he's a Russian blue). Our dog Maye has cuddled many students and helped them when they were homesick. Our cat Vader is more aloof and generally plays with the dog. We treat our guests like extended family members. We want you to be comfortable. We will respect you but we also want you to respect our home and our house rules. 翻译
